# Settings overview

> Navigate the redesigned Settings page in Selah — organized into categories for your account, study preferences, companion behavior, and more.

The Settings page is where you control how Selah behaves for you. Open it by clicking **Settings** in the sidebar. On desktop, a left-hand sub-navigation lists every category and slides in smoothly when you enter settings. On mobile, you see a scrollable list of categories — tap one to open it, then use the back arrow to leave Settings and return to the home page.

Changes save automatically unless a section has an explicit **Save** button (such as your public profile).

## Settings categories

Settings are organized into three groups: **You**, **Your study**, and **Advanced**.

## Account

The **Account** section shows your name, email, and avatar. Your email is used for login and the weekly digest. Passwords are managed by your sign-in provider.

The **Danger zone** at the bottom of this section includes:

* **Sign out** — Ends your current session on this device.
* **Delete account** — Permanently removes your account, notes, prayers, and history. This action is coming soon and cannot be undone.

## Companion settings

The **Companion** section controls Selah's AI behavior. It includes:

* **Proactivity** — Toggle proactive check-ins on or off and set the hours when Selah is allowed to send nudges via Telegram. See [proactive check-ins](/features/companion#proactive-check-ins) for details.
* **Voice** — Tone, response length, and theological perspective (coming soon).
* **Context** — Reading memory range, cross-note references, and prayer journal inclusion (coming soon).
* **Reset** — Clear companion conversation history without affecting your notes (coming soon).

<Note>
  Proactive check-ins require a connected [Telegram account](/integrations/telegram). If Telegram isn't linked, you see a prompt to connect it first.
</Note>

## Devotional settings

The **Daily devotional** page groups all devotional preferences in one place. Go to **Settings > Daily devotional** to configure:

* **Enable or disable** — turn the daily devotional on or off with a single toggle.
* **Delivery hour** — the hour you want your devotional to arrive, shown in your local time. Defaults to 7 AM.
* **Timezone** — auto-detected from your device. Displayed for reference so you can confirm it's correct.
* **Reflection weekday** — the day that closes your weekly study arc. The devotional on that day reflects on the whole week, and the next morning opens a new theme.

Changes save automatically as you make them. If your [Telegram account](/integrations/telegram) is connected, a status indicator confirms that devotionals are delivered to both Selah and your Telegram chat.

<Tip>
  If you haven't enabled devotionals yet, the page shows a preview of what a devotional looks like so you can decide before turning it on.
</Tip>

## Notification settings

The **Notifications** section lets you configure when Selah reaches out.

### Daily devotional

When enabled, Selah generates a short, personalized verse and reflection each morning based on what you've been studying.

**Options you can set:**

* **Deliver at** — The hour you want the devotional to arrive, in your local time.
* **Your week closes on** — The day that ends your study arc. The devotional on this day reflects on the whole week, and the next morning opens a new theme.

Your timezone is detected automatically. If Selah can't detect it, it falls back to UTC.

<Tip>
  If your Telegram account is connected, the devotional is delivered to both Selah and your Telegram chat. You can also trigger today's devotional anytime by typing `/devotional` in the companion. To [change your weekly theme](/features/companion#changing-your-weekly-theme) mid-week, ask the Companion directly in conversation.
</Tip>

### Weekly digest

A weekly summary of what you've studied, captured, and prayed. This feature is coming soon.

## Email preferences

Every email from Selah includes an **Unsubscribe** link in the footer. Clicking it immediately opts you out of all future emails from Selah.

Selah also includes standard `List-Unsubscribe` headers, so email clients like Gmail and Apple Mail display a built-in unsubscribe button. Both methods work the same way.

<Note>
  Unsubscribing stops all emails from Selah, including beta invite codes. If you unsubscribe while on the waitlist, you won't receive your invite when a spot opens. Email `team@mail.selah.so` to resubscribe.
